Accommodation
Holywell Manor, a small part of Jowett and the Martin and Dellal Buildings form the accommodation that Balliol provides for its graduate members.

The graduate room rental contract is 44 weeks. If you leave early it may be possible, in exceptional cases only, to sub-let your room to another student, but this should never be done without authorisation from the Praefectus's Secretary or the Praefectus.
There are various rules in the College handbook relevant to accommodation. In particular, please note that: accommodation is for single occupancy only ; rooms must not be lent out; if you leave Oxford for more than two days you should inform the porters; your keys should be left with the lodge if you go away; lost keys will be charged for.
All rooms have a network socket, the use of which is free to full Balliol members and is not part of the room rental.
Allocated/chosen rooms usually become available from 1st September (though you can choose to move in and start your contract at any point between
then and the start of term).
Upon arrival students can go to the Holywell Manor lodge where they can get room keys and other information 24 hours a day.
The accommodation contract then runs for 44 weeks, and can usually be extended up until the 31st August. The College sends out bills for accommodation in three termly installments on College battels which also include any other amounts due (e.g.the MCR levy, your Megaron bill etc.). You are batteled in advance on the 2nd Friday of each term and you are expected to pay in full. Electricity is separate but heating is included.
The rents can be found at the Balliol Weblearn site.
