College: People

A list of all College Officers can be found on the College website. The most relevant are:

The Dean, Chaplain and Financial Aid Officer
The Revd Dr Douglas Dupree has many different roles.
(*) For any pastoral matters, he is a good port of call (though the Praefectus would usually be the first port of call for graduates).
(*) He is responsible for allocating bursaries. A "Money Matters" handbook is published by College which indicates how to apply for these. There is a summary table of the financial aid available on the College's website.

The Senior Tutor, Tutor for Graduates, and Academic Registrar
Dr Nicola Trott is Tutor for Graduates as well as Senior Tutor: this means she oversees administration for Balliol graduate students (and sits on the university Graduate Committee). Contact her with any problems with your course or other academic related matters.

Replacement University/Bodleian cards can be orded by, and most forms can be completed by, the Academic Administrator (Glynis Price).

Be aware that Oxford does not operate like most other institutions when it comes to academic matters. Exam dates, for example, are set in stone; it is virtually impossible to arrange to sit them at another date, your only option in this case is to delay a year. Extensions to thesis deadlines are slightly more flexible. If you are unsure about academic matters such as this you should see Nicky.

The Academic Administrator
Ms Glynis Price is the Academic Administrator. She oversees all grants and travel scholarships. She also signs and stamps transfer forms etc., so has a lot of day to day contact with graduate students.

The Conference and Catering manager
Mr Howard Chirgwin deals with the food side of things. Send bookings for Tuesday Hall to him, as well as bookings for the Catering Pre-Payment mentioned above.
