Full term: 1st-8th Week. N.B. In Oxford, the week begins on Sunday.

Battels - Your college bill, which you usually have to pay in to the Bursary (in main college, though you can use pigeon post) by Friday 2nd week each term. Many things such as charges for social events and more importantly your Holywell bar tab can go onto Battels.

Pigeon Post - The university runs a Pigeon post system whereby mail is delivered between the Colleges and the Departments by hand a number of times a day. To send mail by Pigeon Post write the name and college or dept of the recipient on the front, and give it to the Porter in the Lodge.

Michaelmas Term - First term of the year (i.e. semester).

Hilary Term - Second term of the year.

Trinity Term - Yes, the third term of the year.

BodCard - University membership card, functions as your student ID and a swipecard to get into your department etc. Essential for having an email account.
