Computing Facilities

Up-to-date computing information may be found under the computing section of the College website. All student rooms have network sockets. If you wish to use your computer in the network point in your room you need to follow the instructions on the College web pages. In order to do this you will need your Bod Card. There are open-access email/web terminals in the Painted Room, Martin Building and Dellal Building for general web access. The IT Manager is Dr Ian Plummer. The IT Department can assist students to connect their own computers to the network while the graduate MCR Computer Officer can assist members to connect their computers to the network and deal with virus problems, etc. They can be contacted at mcr [dot] computer [dot] officerballiol [dot] ox [dot] ac [dot] uk. Apart from College computing facilities there are a number of valuable services offered by the University Computing Services, among others a very handy backup service and reduced-price software offers.
