Recycling
Paper. A red plastic bin is provided for paper recycling only in each room in the Manor Complex. Please place the bin outside your door on Tuesday and Thursday, when it will be emptied by the housekeepers.
Glass. There are three large plastic recycling bins for glass located in the Megaron. In the Dellal Building there is one beside the entrance and in the Martin Building there is one in the first floor kitchen. Glass containers (especially bottles) should be emptied before placing in the bin.
Cans. There are recycling containers for cans located in the Megaron, the Dellal Building (beside the entrance) and the Martin Building (first floor kitchen). Cans must be emptied before placing them in a recycling container.
Plastic bottles There is a bin in the bar for recycling plastic bottles. Please rinse and squash your bottles.
Batteries, printer cartridges. Please place used batteries and printer cartridges in the box labelled "batteries" in the post-room.
Cardboard As yet, we do not have facilities for recycling cardboard. However, if you have cardboard boxes, please place them on the table in the post-room so that others can reuse them.
Other. Rather than throwing away other belongings (clothes, crockery, etc), try selling or donating them to other Balliolites via the Common Market, or take them to one of Oxford's many charity shops, e.g.: Oxfam (17 Broad Street), AgeConcern (21-22 St Clements Street).
If you have any further questions regarding recycling, please contact the Environment Rep.
